Within 3 hours bookings cannot be cancelled or rescheduled.
You may change the number of players in your game at any time by calling us (minimum of 2 players).
Do I need a reservation?
Yes! Although you can walk in without a reservation, we strongly recommend booking and paying in advance to ensure a slot in the scenario you want. Payment and reservations can be made on our site or at our location while you wait. Keep in mind, we are a non-cash business. Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your start time.
Are there age limits?
Which games are best for kids?
If you have a group of kids under 16, we recommend Mystic Chambers at our Lakewood Location or the Hollywood Mystery at our Arvada Location.None of our rooms are, currently, made exclusively for children, but they can still have a fun time playing regardless. Kids under 13 are required to chaperoned by a participating adult in our games. If your kiddo is playing with your family, any of our rooms would be ok to play, we don’t include adult or especially scary content in any of our games. We find they can contribute the best in Mystic Chambers, Cabin in the Woods, The Hollywood Mystery and Scrooge: The Search for Holiday Spirit.
Players under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult that agrees to be their guardian. While some of our puzzles may be challenging/sophisticated, some 8-12 year old participants have been successful at solving them, and younger eyes are often more observant than older adults! Kids 7 and under are free with a paying adult.
Will there be other groups or strangers in the room with me?
Nope! Conundrum has a ‘private room only’ booking system, so you will always have the room to yourselves!

Recommended Group Size and Oversized Groups
We have a few different recommended group sizes for our games – here’s a brief explanation of each.
Recommended Maximum – this is usually 6 or 8 players, depending on the game. This reflects the maximum number of players the game was comfortably designed to accommodate, taking into account room size, game flow, and the number of puzzles/challenges.
Overbooking Maximum – This is the absolute maximum number of players we will allow in each room. When overbooking, we feel that the playing experience can drop off, so we don’t recommend this. The room can be overcrowded and each player gets less individual involvement. We also understand that sometimes you really want everyone to play together, and that’s more important.
Suggested Group Size – In general, for the best playing experience, we typically recommend TWO LESS than the recommended maximum, so if the recommended maximum is 8, we feel you will have the most fun with a group of 6.Have a bigger group? – We can often accommodate larger groups in either our Heist Game (12-36 players), or spread you out among multiple games. Call us, or visit our Teambuilding Page for additional details.
How long will I be at Conundrum?
You should plan to be here about 80-90 minutes total. The escape experience is one hour, but you should arrive 10-15 minutes early, and you will typically leave about 10-15 minutes after you finish your room. If you have some time concerns, please call us at (720) 441-3011 to discuss.
Would this game be more fun drunk or high?
Although some of life’s activities might be more fun under the influence of mind-altering substances, we don’t think this is one of them. Having a clear, focused mind actually makes this game more enjoyable and your team more successful. This game should not be played under the influence of any mind-altering substances aside from prescription medication and/or caffeine. Remember, our staff reserves the right to refuse anyone for any reason. Celebrate after you win!
How many players can participate?
While that depends on the escape room you choose, our maximum recommended group size is eight people. Some rooms are smaller in size, so the recommended maximum is six people.A few of our games (Experiment C-73, Cabin in the Woods, and Submersion) are really suited for 4+.Submersion physically requires at least 3 players, while the others are simply VERY challenging for small groups. Our scenarios are best suited for groups of 4-6 players. The scenarios are often impossible to complete alone and are very difficult to complete with a group of only 2. If you have a group larger than 8, we recommend splitting into two groups to have the best experience, though we occasionally make exceptions.
Can I bring more than the recommended maximum number of players?
We have a recommended maximum (6 or 8 players depending on the game) on each of our games. If you REALLY want to, we will allow up to 8-10 total players in most of our games, but we generally feel this lessens the experience for everyone. The room is more crowded, and each individuals potential contribution and participation is reduced. However, we understand that sometimes the value is simply in being together, so we will allow a certain level of overbooking as noted on each game booking page.
Will the room actually be locked?
For your safety, the room won’t actually be locked (but we can pretend). You will always be able to exit in case of emergencies.
Can I make changes or cancel my booking?
Yes! You can change the time, date and number of players online up to 24 hours in advance of your booking using the links above. After 24 hours in advance cancellations and time changes are not typically allowed, but we can adjust the number of players (minimum 2-3) up until your booking begins – you can do this by calling us at 720-441-3011.
Are the rooms handicap accessible?
Mostly. We have a single step up from our parking lot, and a single step to reach the Cabin in the Woods room. We do not have dedicated handicap parking. All of the rooms also have at least one chair to rest in.
After I book, can I change the number of players in my group? (Add or remove players)
Yes! You we can adjust the number of players (minimum 2-3 depending on the game) up until your booking begins – you can do this by calling us at 720-441-3011.
Do I need to wear or bring anything special to the escape room?
Generally, no, you will lock up your personal belongings while you are in the room. The only item you might need to provide for yourself is reading glasses, and of course your sense of adventure! Path of the Gods, Mystic Chambers and Experiment C-73 may require one or more players to crouch/crawl.
Do you offer catering or meeting space?
We do not have facilities for post-escape game events in our Lakewood location, but we do have a conference space and the option for in-house catering at our second location in Arvada.
Is this good for team building for work?
Absolutely! We’ve had tons of groups from companies big and small come through our room for a fun and effective team building experience. The Heist game was purpose built for large group events!
What happens if I am running late to my appointment?
Because we have a strict schedule that we must keep throughout the day, if you run late your game timer may still start at your scheduled time. Please make every effort to arrive 10 minutes early!
Are the escape games scary?
Not generally, no. We do not design our rooms to scare people like in a scary movie, but there are surprises in store, and some of them may startle you. Our newest game in development, The Cellar, will have more scary aspects.
Are any Conundrum employees in the room with us during our game?
What do I need to know about Covid-19 at Conundrum?
We have, and will, continue to follow any guidelines/rules from the State of Colorado or Jefferson County . Currently, as of 11/2022, masks are not required and we are not verifying Vaccination status. If you feel ill or test positive for Covid-19, please contact us to reschedule your appointment.
Nope! Players only, unless there is an emergency.
